Property:
THPS is a kind of environmental anti-microbial reagent. It’s characterized by its low solidity point and fine stability. It can be reserved for long time and can easily dissolve in water. It’s a kind of new environmental pesticide with high efficacy, low toxicity and low rudimental. It can kill germ and aquatic plants. In 1995, the EPA of the United States ratified it with zero toxicity and awarded it with US Green Chemical prize.

THPS protective measures:
THPS (Tetrakis (hydroxymethyl) phosphonium sulfate) is a commonly used biocide and fungicide in various applications, including water treatment, oil and gas production, and papermaking. Here are some protective measures to consider when handling THPS:
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing, when handling THPS to minimize skin and eye contact.
- Mixing and Dilution: When preparing solutions with THPS, add THPS to water slowly and mix well to prevent splashing or release of gases. Follow the recommended dilution ratios provided by the manufacturer.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation in the working area to prevent the build-up of vapors. This can be achieved by working in a well-ventilated space or using local exhaust ventilation systems.
- Safe Handling: Avoid inhalation of dust or fumes by handling THPS in a controlled manner. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling THPS and always wash hands thoroughly after handling.
- Storage: Store THPS in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Keep containers tightly closed and properly labeled.
- Spill Response: In case of a spill, contain the material and clean it up promptly using appropriate absorbent materials. Avoid contact with skin and eyes during cleanup.
- Disposal: Dispose of THPS waste in accordance with local regulations and guidelines. Follow proper disposal procedures to minimize environmental impact.
Remember to consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) provided by the manufacturer for specific information on safe handling, storage, and disposal of THPS.
