Properties:
The SSS/MA is the best scale inhibitor and dispersant among all the polymers for cooling water treatment. The copolymer contains carboxylic acid groups and sulfonic acid groups, the scale inhibition rate of calcium carbonate, phosphate root, calcium sulfate is more than 90% and has excellent ability to disperse iron oxide, the stability rate of zinc ion is more than 90%.The polymer has excellent temperature resistance, which is better than hydrolyzed polymaleic anhydride and solvent polymaleic anhydride, and is a good substitute for solvent polymaleic anhydride.
Used in flash unit for seawater desalination and low pressure boiler and industrial circulating cooling water, especially for Texaco gas furnace ash water scale control.
The addition of SSS/MA to the boiler water effectively prevents the accumulation of scale and sludge and it disperses, or conditions, accumulated sludge enabling it to be removed by blow down.
It prevents deposits from forming on the water side surfaces, maintains efficient heat transfer, and decreases the incidence of boiler clean up, thus lowering operating costs.

SSS/MA protective measures:
Since SSS/MA is primarily used as a water treatment chemical and not commonly associated with specific protective measures, it is important to follow general safety precautions when handling chemicals.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE such as gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing when handling SSS/MA to minimize skin and eye contact.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation in the working area to prevent the build-up of vapors or fumes.
- Handling and Storage: Follow proper handling and storage procedures as specified by the manufacturer. Store SSS/MA in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
- Spill Response: In case of a spill, contain and clean it up promptly according to appropriate spill response procedures. Use absorbent materials and dispose of them properly.
- Disposal: Dispose of SSS/MA waste in accordance with local regulations and guidelines. Do not dispose of it in regular trash or pour it down the drain.
It’s important to consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) provided by the manufacturer for specific information on safe handling, storage, and disposal of SSS/MA.
